Happy Memorial Day!

We spent our extended weekend hiking in Mount Ranier National Park & catching up on stuff at home. We had a great day at Ranier, although the park has a lot of damage from this winter's flooding and wind storms. We ran into snow... that kept us from continuing further on our hike, but the weather was beautiful, and we were glad to get outside to enjoy nature- so close to us!

Here is the most recent photos of our house, they will start siding and will finish the balance of the wiring this week. We have our first official walk-thru next week. Pretty exciting! Less than 2 months away! Thank you for all of your prayers, the process has been really smooth thus far. We are truly blessed to live in our wonderful country and for all the amazing Gifts God has given us!

Capitol City 1/2 Marathon Since we hit age 30, we decided to do something to benefit ourselves physically! We've been training for about 3.5 months and the big day finally came! Yesterday we participated in our first 1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles) in Olympia, Washington. It was a cool, rainy day, but had a beautiful course to run. We all finished close to the times we were expecting, so overall we were happy with the results despite the sore muscles today! Rob's brother Steve & his friend Steve also ran with us- it was good to have familiar faces around! Construction Day 10 (Only 44 left!) Our house is still progressing to schedule... the most recent update is that we have almost all of the windows installed. We should have shingles on the roof, plumming, heating and the tyvec wrapping done by Friday. Now that the structure is up the visual changes aren't as dramatic- my daily pictures aren't going to be as interesting pretty soon!

Construction- Day 4
The second floor is almost done! It's amazing to visit our property each day after work... it's always so different! The roof should be on in the next week.

What a difference ONE day can make!
Check out the progress of our house this week...this is from today, they should have the second floor framed by the weekend! This is 3 days of work!
Not sure if we should be proud about this one, but good old Seattle has the 2nd highest gas prices in the country behind California. This is what I paid today...
At work, I coordinated a 5k River Run and Walk for our employees. We had a great turn out- 144 participants! It was a lot of fun, it's definately on the docket for next year due to the success!

The Framing Begins...
They've started building! Today they built the floor joists for our house and the garage walls went up. We should be in our house by the end of July! Hooray!
