Gardening...
This is the first year we tried growing broccoli, carrots and peas. The carrots didn't work out, but boy did the broccoli work for us! I didn't realize how massive the plant would be, we tend to choose the biggest plants for our small little garden! We harvested it today, check it out! Pretty fun to be able to enjoy our own little crop!

It's finally warmish!!!
Today we spent our morning playing at the beach. We found a new beach/park area, and had a great time together. Today is the nicest day we've had in awhile, who knew summer would last only a few days this year! A good summer to be pregnant!

Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon
Last weekend Rob and our friend, Bryan, ran the Rock & Roll 1/2 marathon. Rob ended up coming in 1000/19000! He did great, improving his last year time by 6ish minutes. Bryan did really well too, despite a timing chip that didn't work. Mya & I went to cheer them both on. We had a great time, Mya was a great little spectator and cheerleader. She wanted to run too!
Mya's Famous!
Mya's very talented Aunt Ang was recently published in "Creating Keepsakes" scrapbook magazine. The layout that was highlighted was one she did of Mya! So, check out the May/June issue page 65! She's super crafty, this is actually the 2nd publication she's been in- the last one highlighted Mya as well! We're pretty lucky to have the test subject in our home! Here is her blog... she's always up to some great photography or creative scrapping!

A day at the beach
My sister and her family came to visit us for the Memorial Day weekend. Mya LOVES her cousins, and got a little taste of having a baby in the house! We had a great time together, and totally lucked out on amazing weather the day we visited the beach.

Palouse River Duathlon
My little brother told me less than 6 months ago that he wanted to coordinate a duathlon. I seriously thought he was nuts, and he wouldn't be able to pull it off in such a short time, but much to my dismay- he did it, with flying colors! From race numbers to street closures to a spaghetti lunch after the race- all bases were well covered, and will likely be the first of many in the future! Many kudos to a well coordinated event little brother!!! The race was a 2 mile run, 10 mile bike, then another 2 mile run. Rob participated, and did a fantastic job! He came in 10th overall- his first multi sport race! My sister, Angela also signed up with a team mate. She did the running legs, and her team-mate did the bike. They both did great, and seemed to have a good time as well! Mya & I had fun sticking to the start/finish line and cheering on participants. It was an added bonus for all of her cousins to be there as well... she always has a blast playing with them!

Family R&R
We just returned from a wonderful 8 day vacation to Cancun. We had a great time of laying low, playing on the beach and in the pools.
A bummer view that we had for lunch...
Some of the wild life we saw. We also got to see a crocodile, turtles, lots of birds and...
LEMURS!!! I like to move it, move it!

Happy Easter!
We've enjoyed the Easter season with egg decorating, egg hunting and planting our garden, and reading the Easter Story each night before putting Mya to bed. I've always loved holidays, but being able to enjoy it 2 year old is even more fun. Her favorite part of the story is when Jesus is riding into Bethlehem on his donkey. We sing, "Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest," each time, as the crowd welcomes him by waving palm branches and celebrating. She also knows why we have the first Easter. She comments each time on how the cross was really heavy for Jesus to carry, and how the angels were at the tomb to tell the women that he wasn't there. She gets really excited at that part. The Easter Bunny did come last night (and brought her a boat load of stuff I might add), but she wasn't nearly as excited for that as she was for going to church and singing "hosanna" today. Thank you Jesus for giving your life, so that we could have our amazing life. We are so blessed to be able to cherish these wonderful moments with our little one.

Updates...
Thank you for your prayers. Great news! Baby's heart is seemingly healthy at this time. We're still waiting on Mya's Echo, but we are thankful to know that #2 is doing well so far! IT'S A GIRL! Mya is looking forward to being a big sister, she's been proud to tell people that there is a baby in Mommy's tummy and that it's a girl. She's pretty cute about it! Rob is doing better after the car wreck, his car was totaled and we were able to get a new one at a great price. We are very thankful for our financial planning/savings program... we were able to buy a new car with cash, the first time we've ever done that! Our emergency fund made the situation much less of an emergency. I recommend it to everyone! We've been working hard getting our house ready for #2 to arrive. We've transitioned Mya into a new room, she's been a little trooper helping in painting and was excited to move into her big twin sized bed from her little toddler bed. It's not totally ready yet, I'll be sure to post an update when we finish it up!
