Rain, Rain Go Away!

Our little girl is growing so fast, she's becoming really smart & working on her persuasive speaking skills in the mean time! Her latest is to try to delay bedtime as long as possible, with a drink of water, another song etc. The other night she was sitting on the side of her bed and she said, "Mama, my tummy hurts." I asked, "How does it hurt?" Mya replied, "The baby is kicking me. I need chocolate milk to make it feel better." Such a little squirt! We would love some prayers for our little family... I've got 3 requests! 1. Rob got rear-ended on Monday, he was almost at a complete stop when a gal hit him going about 45mph. He's seemingly fine (been to the dr already), but I'd like prayer for his body to be healed from the situation and to not have long term damage. I'd like prayer for our car hunt! 2. We have an upcoming fetal echocardiogram for our baby. We don't have reason to believe that this baby will have a heart condition as well, but we're checking to be sure. 3. Mya's first cardiology visit in 8 months is in a couple of weeks. I'd love to not have to go back again for 1 year! Please pray for her little heart to have continued it's "normal" functioning.

Thank you!

Meeting Miles
We had a great time this weekend meeting Mya's newest cousin, Miles. He is very sweet, and tolerated his first grandchild picture! He is a darling little addition to our family! Mya had a blast with her cousins, it is always fun to observe them all together!
All the grandkids... 7 and counting!

Sweet Toddler Moments Our little toddler is growing up so fast. She is also such fun to be with right now. Communicating very well with a few favorite sayings: I do it myself. This for you mommy! Mac-a-da-cheese (aka Macaroni & Cheese) Oh Man! We've had fun lately, as doing girl stuff- playing with dolls, dancing, painting fingernails and toes, and other craft stuff. I'm not sure if Mya is having more fun than Mommy at times! Sponge animal capsules - you put them in warm water and in a few minutes little sponges in the different shapes appear. This was a huge hit!

We're Expecting!
So, if you've not already heard, we are expecting #2 in late August. We're very excited to have another little one in our family, and are praying for a healthy baby. Mya keeps asking me about the baby in my tummy (she has a baby in her tummy at times too), it's very fun to have her as a part of the experience this time. She joined us at the ultra sound, I'm pretty sure she understands having a baby in Mommy's tummy... just not to clear on having a sibling around as part of the equation. Lots of changes around the corner for all of us!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I haven't posted an update in awhile... My new computer (we've owned for 5 months) has been unuseable, the hard drive is shot ALREADY! Needless to say, we're looking to pay $700-$2700 (nice range, hua?) for the data to be recovered. This is the last resort option, we've already taken it to a local recovery spot, it's now on the way to California to be taken apart physically. Luckily they'll tell us how much it'll cost prior to doing anything. We're praying for the low end of the spectrum, and that they can get the past 5 months off of it!!! Reminder... BACK YOUR PHOTOS UP! This has been a painful month to be without a computer, and a tough lesson has been learned. However, in the mean time, we've had a wonderful Christmas season. I don't have all of my pictures from December, but we do have everything from our family celebrations. We celebrated the weekend prior to Christmas with the Tiegs side of the family. Mya always has a great time being the complete center of attention to 6 adults! For Christmas, we flew to Idaho this time to spend the weekend with my family. The group photo is getting pretty loaded with people, but is also very challenging to make sure all of the little ones will sit still!
Rob with our two oldest nieces- they're growing up so fast!Cousins...
"Papa, watch me!"
Our new little nephew hasn't joined us yet, we're waiting for him anxiously! Good luck Suz! I pray you can relax the next few days!

The Festival of Trees
We had a wonderful afternoon. We went to the Fairmont Olympic Hotel to enjoy the Festival of Trees. Each year, the Forrest L. Flashman Guild for Children's Hospital coordinate this fundraising event, hosting 20 decorated Christmas trees to be sold, along with the lighting of the main hall tree, cookies, and Santa photos. Each tree sells for $2,500-$4,000. All the trees have a featured patient from Children's Hospital, and this year Mya was honored as one of them! What a wonderful time to share how thankful we are for the many blessings & miracles we received from her heart surgery experience. She had a great time, being a special guest at the event, she was given a ribbon necklace with a silver bell on it along with a sprinkled cookie- the mix for a perfect day! Grandpa & Grandma Tiegs helped enjoy the time together. We haven't forgotten Thanksgiving, but it was a wonderful kick-off to our Christmas Season! Please visit the website at: http://www.seattlefestivaloftrees.com/
Here is the write-up that is online and posted next to her tree, #6!
